Saturday September 9th 1916

 Cool, fair. Sidney and Martin finished digging the potatoes, all except the last early ones, they are too green. We pulled the rest of beans, all the last ones are green and a mass of blossoms and buds. Sidney and the other man Martin have gone to Gayville, got home at 10 p.m.

Sunday September 3rd 1916

 Beautiful all day. Charles and Daisy Green and 3 children, Fred and Hannah Bartlet and Guy came all 10 a.m in auto. Went at 3 p.m. Took Sidney to Gayville to get some flour and sugar. Mr. Roguiski came and with his phonograph. Had nice time.

Monday August 28th 1916

 Quite cold, rained a.m. children played at Russel's. One went at a time. Sidney sent a letter to E. M. Wightman and went to Gayville this eve. Got a ride in an auto, saw Call Burgess. Rosen came, sold him some rags and rubber. .35 cents.

Saturday, August 12th 1916

 Looks lousy and sprinkled some. Sidney picked 3 qts of blackberries for a shortcake and huckleberries for pies. Children picked a few. Mora and Maud rode with the Cotett girl, went to Little France. Got 10# sugar, a pkg of oats, 1# soda and lamp chimney. Sidney went to  Gayville to quarterly meeting this ee, got home at 11 p.m.

Sunday August 6th 1916

Hot and awfully dusty. Auto's make an awful fog.  Sidney, Mora and Maud went to S.S. Sidney was so hoarse, he could not preach but he has gone to Gayville this evening, got along alright. Got .70 cents collection.

Sunday July 30th 1916

Awfully hot. Sidney and 5 girls went to S.S (Sunday school) and Sidney conducted services a.m. and at Dutch Hill at 3 p.m. and Gayville 7:30 p.m. Lillian rode home with Mrs. Siegert. Maud Potter gave her some cookies. Sidney got .60 cents here, .40 cents at Dutch Hill and .92 cents at Gayville. 

Sunday May 7th, 1916

Beautiful warm day. Mora came home from Elmer's, a.m. Sidney preached at the school house at 11, Dutch Hill at 2 p.m., and at Gayville, eve. Maud went to S.S, rode home with uncle Billy. Sidney did too, James, Susie and the baby came up, eve., brought a mess of carp and a lot of fish egg's, some cream and sour milk. Milk got all spilt out but, just a little. Brought some *compounded in a pint can for fear I did not have any to fry the fish. Sidney got home from Gayville at 10 p.m.,  collection 80 cents.

Sunday August 8, 1915

Pleasant until 4 p.m. rain. Sidney, Mora and Maud attended church. Sidney took Sypher's place in pulpit, intended to go to Gayville eve., did not go on account of rain. Two loads of people reached there late for the services.

Tuesday July 20, 1915

Fair cool breeze. Sidney finished greening potatoes a.m., called at Siegels and went by way of Fred Cary's to Gayville and got some groceries. Bell brought a pail of buttermilk. Baby is much better, but Mora feels bad. We had some new potatoes and string beans for supper.

Saturday July 3, 1915

Sidney got House's old gray horse and cultivated his potatoes acrossed the way. I planted a few wax beans. Sidney went to Gayville at night, got 1/2 gal. oil, a sack of meal, a loaf of bread and some sugar, also a can of red cross milk, quart confer. Dutch Hill.

Thursday July 1, 1915

Cloudy this morning. Mr. Willson came about eleven o'clock, Sidney got 10# graham, 10# meal and 2 bar's lenox soap. After dinner Sidney, Mora and Maud went and picked a few qts. berries at Bisbo's and from there went to Gayville and got sugar. Mrs. Hess gave he children firecracker's, they also brought home some berries and we had a nice shortcake. Claud Bisbo came for them on his bike.

Sunday June 13, 1915

Fair. Sidney went to Sunday School, no preaching. Children's day at Gayville. Mora did not eat anything until after 2 p.m.

Saturday June 5, 1915

Hot. Sidney went to Jim Potter's twice and carried 1 bu. potatoes each time. He planted some on the {unable to read} place, and went to Gayville eve. I hoe'd some in the garden this morning. Susie, Mable, Marian and Myrtle came a.m. eat dinner, bought a lot of sour milk, buttermilk and some beans. Also peppermint herb. Mora has a bad bronchial cough and acts sick.

Monday May 31, 1915

Warm lovely day. Sidney went to Gayville before breakfast, got groceries, got there an hour before anyone was up, had to wait, got home at 7:30 a.m. P.m. he planted potatoes across the way some over 3 bu. seed. James, Mossaline and Susie came eat supper here.

Monday May 3, 1915

Cold day. Maud and Memphis went to school. A baby boy came to Elmer Whorl and wife. Janie Johnson brought a pail sauerkraut this morning sent by old Mrs. Johnson. Sidney went up to North Constantia and back by way of Gayville.

Thursday April 29, 1915

Sidney went to Gayville, sold 2 scrolls, led the prayer meeting at the school house in evening. Floyd Fisher called to see Sidney. Had 2 electric storms, rained, was furious also hail.
