Monday June 26th 1916
Fair warm day. I washed and helped hoe corn. Sidney was sick all night and the a.m. Sent by H. Munger to Parish for flour and meal.
Thursday June 22nd, 1916
First nice day in sometime. Sidney, Mora hoed potatoes and beans. I found {unknown, page ripped} in a hole back of hen house. Rec'd a card form Mina. Sidney gone after the rest of his {unknown, page ripped}, he left them in woods above Geo. Munger's. Went to Mr. Smiths, a.m. I sold 6 eggs, got 3 lbs grahm off of Mr. Wilson, a.m. .22c for eggs. Paul is sick.
Wednesday June 14th 1916
Warm. Maud and Memphis went and took exam orations. Memphis took a note to H. Munger's for Gail. Mora sent me a note. I sent a letter to Sidney. Planted some more beans on the hill. Maud took Maud Cronin some petunia seed. Duck eggs picking.
Wednesday May 24th 1916
Fair. Sidney worked shingling at Fielding's for H. Munger. Got home at 4 p.m. Maud and Memphis went to school, rode home with Claud Bisbo. Bell Allen spent p.m. here. James and Susie drove up this eve. brought sour milk and a picture and some butter in a pint can.
Tuesday May 23rd 1916
Rainy a.m., good p.m. Sidney went to Little France a.m., built fence for H. Russel p.m. Herbert Munger called to get Sidney to help him shingle tomorrow. Mora started acrost for Cottet's at 4:30 p.m. I planted the yard. Sidney spaded up today, it is succotash in earnest.
Wednesday May 17th 1916
Rainy. Sidney rode with Arthur Getman to Geo. Mungers, brought home 1 bu potatoes, gone to Harry Hubbards this eve. Mr. Russel came to see our mailbox.
Monday March 20, 1916
Thawing some. Sidney and Alf. finished up Chas. Munger's wood job. Both eat dinner with Mungers. Maud Potter sent a pail of buttermilk and pail of sweet milk by Sidney. He borrowed some flour off Claud Bryant.
Friday March 17, 1916
Cold, frosty all day, p.m. blizzard. Sidney and Alf. worked for Munger. Sidney came out and eat his dinner at Claud Bryant's. He left it there this a.m. Maud Potter game him a pail each of sweet and sour milk. She filled Alf.'s pail also for him.
Monday March 13, 1916
Mary and Mildred Potter went forward. Quite a nice day. Mora went to school as did several other children. Waited until 10 and no teacher came, so she came back home wet to her knees. Roads filled last night. Sidney and Alf. waded over to Munger's, cut wood. Sidney went to meeting. Awful tired tonight.
Wednesday September 15, 1915
Awfully warm again. A series of thunder showers from 4 p.m. on in the night. Memphis got a ride with H. Munger and his children. Mora stopped to get a pumpkin. Maud waited for her and both came near getting wet. Stopped to House's until it stopped a bit. Bell brought over two little pails for dinner. Mamie sent a little dress for me to stitch, gave me a little sour milk and a little sweet too. Let her have a small loaf of bread. I did the rest of washing this p.m. Got off of Mr. Wilson, 1 graham, 1 salt, 1 soap, 1/4 mustard and 2 red cross for .40c. Sold 1 doz. 8 eggs for .24c/doz. Sent letter to Sidney in Lysander. Hazel sent an invitation for Memphis, Cassie and Lillian to attend a birthday party for Curtis Friday.
Saturday August 28, 1915
Fair. Mora took her books to the school house this a.m. Jannie Johnson and Maud Cronan and her 3 children also Roy Munger her p.m. Bell came this eve., brought some new milk. Sidney came on the 7 p.m. train to Hastings, train late. He brought 4 loaves bread and quite a few other groceries.
Saturday August 21, 1915
Cool, clear until 10 a.m., commenced to rain, kept at it steadily all day. Sidney cut brush till it rained. went to W. Monroe 3 p.m., got home at 6 awful wet having come from the Munger hill through the hard rain. He heard that Peter and George Ausman were caught stealing chickens.
Wednesday August 11, 1915
Fair, warm. Sidney went to help fix up grove for the picnic. Made another 16ft. table. Frank and Joe Slosson, also Kenneth, helped. Frank Kents dog bit Sidney on his way home, his leg is pretty sore, but he cut brush p.m. Children picked a little over 2 qts berries. We all went back but could not find any berries worthwhile to pick. Mr. and Mrs. House called evening. We had sweet corn for supper. Sidney and Mora went to Geo. Munger's this eve. got home at 10 p.m. did not find anyone at home there.
Tuesday June 1, 1915
Warm again. Sidney finished his piece of potatoes a.m. Rev. Sypher and son are also planting their potatoes across the way from us. A peddler came only give 12c. for chickens, we did not sell. Sidney got a bu. potatoes from Chas. Munger p.m. F. House and Curtis called eve.
Saturday April 17, 1915
Fair. Sidney went over to Char. Munger's and sold him a scroll. I worked settling.
Wednesday April 14, 1915
Floyd came this morning after another load. I got a ride with Mr. Johnson, so took Lillian and the baby. I got awfully cold and the baby was blue. First time I had been outdoors or baby. Mrs. Johnson made me a cup of peppermint and it warmed us all up. We ate dinner there and then Mr. Johnson took us over to the house. Sidney and the rest of the children came with Floyd. Jannie was at Johnson's and Herb Munger's children. Herb and Elsie were at the funeral of his nephew, operator's little son at Hastings.
