Friday April 14, 1916
Rainy. Harry House called to ask Sidney to help him, p.m., but it rained so hard he did not go. Alf. Russel came and moved his furniture in the rain. Ducks did not come up tonight. Sidney and I looked for them but did not find them. Snowed some.
Sunday April 2, 1916
Fair cool day. Sidney and Mora attended church. They organized teachers etc. Alf. Russel and his two girls called a little while.
Sunday March 26, 1916
Thawing, more snow gone today than I ever saw before go in a day. Sidney and Mora went to church. Alf. Russel came p.m. brought back Sidney's testament.
Monday March 20, 1916
Thawing some. Sidney and Alf. finished up Chas. Munger's wood job. Both eat dinner with Mungers. Maud Potter sent a pail of buttermilk and pail of sweet milk by Sidney. He borrowed some flour off Claud Bryant.
Saturday March 18, 1916
Clear, not so cold. Alf. said he could not work as he had to go to store. Sidney cut us wood a.m. and went to quarterly meeting p.m. Harry Howard called and went with him eve. Sidney went and got a pail of milk at E.B. Potter's also qrt. of vinegar at Elmer Cottets.
Friday March 17, 1916
Cold, frosty all day, p.m. blizzard. Sidney and Alf. worked for Munger. Sidney came out and eat his dinner at Claud Bryant's. He left it there this a.m. Maud Potter game him a pail each of sweet and sour milk. She filled Alf.'s pail also for him.
Thursday March 16, 1916
Fair, clear and cold. Sidney wanted to work but Alf. did not come about 9 a.m. Sidney went there and they were just getting breakfast. Alf. did not want to work so S. went to W. Monroe, got some corn and meal. Rode with Frank Cronan some both ways. Lost our bag. Sidney, Mora and Maud have gone to meeting tonight. Mora and Maud rode back with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hubbard. Claud Bryant converted.
Monday March 13, 1916
Mary and Mildred Potter went forward. Quite a nice day. Mora went to school as did several other children. Waited until 10 and no teacher came, so she came back home wet to her knees. Roads filled last night. Sidney and Alf. waded over to Munger's, cut wood. Sidney went to meeting. Awful tired tonight.
Saturday March 11, 1916
Fair. Fisher's plowed the roads a.m. Snow is about 3 ft. on the level and some big drifts. Sidney wanted to go to work but they didn't get the cross road out until p.m. Alf. Russel called.
Tuesday October 19, 1915
Very rainy, rain'd all night and a.m., showery p.m. Sidney cut some wood. Children did not go to school. Milked Russel's cow and fed their dog as they were at Martin Spencers. Alfred came this evening.
Friday October 8, 1915
Very nice day altho mostly cloudy. I did an awful big washing, washed windows and mopped. Paul has been very good all day. I rec'd a card from Sidney from Phoenix. Mora, Maud and Memphis went to school. Alfred Russel came to get some salts, said he was sick . I did not have any so I told him to get some butternut bark and steep and take that.
Friday September 17, 1915
Hot until 3 p.m., turned suddenly cold. Acts like a hard frost was next to come. Children went to school. Memphis, Cassie and Lillian went to Curtis's party. had a lovely time. Maud went to take a card to him and Hazel gave her also some candy, ice cream and cake. Mr. House gave me about 2 bu. corn for the stalks he got here. Alfred Russel brought over a few summer squashes. Fay Sypher borrowed a hammer and a hoe, they are moving now.
Wednesday September 8, 1915
Hot, stuffy all day, some breeze p.m., a thundershower come up 3 p.m. and then one right after another on in the night. Mora came home with Maud and Memphis, all got quite wet. After supper Mora went over acrost. Mr. House came and drew away our corn stalks, said he would give me some sweet corn in exchange for them. Mr. Wilson came, I got 1 graham, 1 milk, 1 salt and 1 soap for 46c. Sold 2 doz. and 11 egg's for 24c/doz. Alf. Russel borrowed drip pan. Mamie sent a skirt for me to hem for her. Gave us a little buttermilk. I can'd 1 two quart and 1 qt. can string beans.
Thursday June 24, 1915
Fair warm day. Sidney came home 10 a.m. he went down to Kents got 1/2 Batavian for $1.00, flour dropped 40c on a barrel. Bell stopped for me to go to Russel's with her, we went 1 p.m. I came home at 4., at 6 Alfred came after me again. I came home at 9, and at 1 he came again. I had only just got asleep. I went over and at 3:15 a.m. a baby girl was born. I washed and dressed it after which I came home. Alfred's mother and Mrs. Lester Alsiver were there. Sidney fixed fence for Bell afternoon.
Wednesday June 23, 1915
Rained all last night and a.m. until 11 o'clock. Mr. Willson came p.m. I got 10# meal. Little ducks all hatched and smart, eleven of them. Alfred Russel came at 9:30 for me to go over there, said Mamie was sick. I went and old Mrs. Russel, Sarah and Bell Allen were there, they went home after awhile and Alfred got F. House to go for Mrs. Allseiver. I came home at 12 midnight.
Friday April 23, 1915
Nice hot day. Sidney went to Little France in the evening. Alfred Russel wife and baby spent the eve. here. Mr. Sypher gave the children sourkraut.
Monday February 22, 1915
Very nice weather. Sidney went to Palermo. No school today. A mask ball at Alfred Piguets tonight.
