Cool. we have been busy straightening up and cleaning. Mr. Sypher called at 11:30 a.m. Eva sent a dress and jacket by him to Mora. Bell and the 2 miss Allen's called also, eve. Sidney got home at 11 p.m. Walked and carried scroll and groceries from Hastings, came on car.

Tuesday August 29th 1916
Frost last night, wiped out some cucumber vines. Sidney started for the north about 8 a.m. Bell Allen came p.m. brought a little dress and pair of pants she found in the house. Geo. Webb came to get some tools of his that were here
Thursday August 24th 1916
Fair. Sent a letter and note to Mina. Bell Allen and Mrs. Albert Herholts called p.m. Sidney picked 9 qts of blackberries. Mr. Wilson did not come.
Friday August 11, 1916
Cool, rainy p.m. I sent an order to Sears Roebuck. Sidney went over on Joe Muckey's and picked 8 qts. of blackberries. Got 8 cents a qt. Mable came at 11 a.m. Bell and Sarah Allen, also Cassie Russel and the girls, called during the shower p.m.
Saturday August 5th 1916
Cloudy most of the day, but hot. Children and I pulled weeds. Mora and I hoed it is very hard work. Mora picked over 1 qt of huckleberries after 6 tonight. Memphis also picked about 1 pint. Mostly long johns. Bell stopped out in front and talked with the children awhile. Sidney came at about 10 p.m., stayed with Mary Allen last night.
