Sunday March 28, 1915

Nice again today. Clarence Porter came to find out how to cook a duck. Floyd and Agnes came too. Sidney and the five girls all went to church today.

Friday February 19, 1915

Rec'd a letter from Aunt A.R. Raymond. Very pleasant day, white frost last night. Claud brought some wood at 1 p.m. Children went to school. Clarence brought the chopping bowl and knife home. Mrs. Smith called. People tapping maple trees.

Tuesday February 16, 1915

Froze up a very little last night, not so mussy today but still thawed some. Some snow p.m. not enough to cover the bare places. Sidney started at about 7:30 a.m. towards Mexico. Mora and Maud came home to dinner from school. Agnes Porter came to borrow our chopping bowl and knife. M. Clarence came to bring a note from his mother p.m. One of our white ducks acts queer as tho her back were hurt.

Tuesday October 27, 1914

Very cold, about 2 inches of snow fell during the night. Sidney went up and helped milk so Mr. Porter would help move our stove in the front part. Clarence and Eugene came also. Mora, Maud and Memphis went to school. Very mussy when they came home to dinner. Cassie and Lillian both have hard colds. Memphis coughs some too. We had Mora's speckled hen for dinner. 4th one we have had lately, all awfully fat.

Tuesday Feb. 17, 1914

The air was so full of frost that it looked like fog nearly all the forenoon, with fine snow all p.m. Quite a kern day. Sidney and Floyd cut wood today, did not make much headway as they are both getting over the grip. Sidney went to John Vinney's shop to file their saw. Mora and Maud went to school took Mrs. Clarence Piquet's licorice and Cap told her to stop on her way home to get the 15c for she also took a pkg. of boraxine to Annie Courbat 10c and a box of tooth picks 5c, she did not have the right change so she stoped there also and Annie gave her the money too. When she come from school, I sent a letter to Mina.

Friday Jan. 30, 1914

I think this has been the most beautiful day we have had so far this winter. Mora and Maude went to school and Mora went down with Avis W. tonight and got some buttermilk. I sent Mora's order again today with Mrs. Clarence Piquet as reference. Memphis went to P.O. three times today. Sidney brought me a letter from Larkin Soap Co. and also one from Beatrice this morning.
[page ripped-unreadable] to Mary today. Sidney and Floyd chopped wood for Cha.'s Hoyet this a.m. up by the depot. Charlie Weatherup's birthday party was a compleate failure with three gallons of ice cream on hand and not a single outsider to help it to spoil, while Orlie Courbat had a great crowd, oh I did not hear whether or not he had any cream to spoil.
