Wednesday July 5th 1916

Fair, cool. Peter Dupra came for James' clothes a.m. Sidney and Cassy picked berries a.m. at Bisbo's. Maud and Memphis all day, caught another rabbit. Mora picked berries for Casey, came back and picked 4 qrts at Bisbo's pm. 

Saturday July 1st 1916

 Warm. Sidney came at 10 a.m. He went first to W. Monroe, got a lot of groceries and feed. Marguerite came with him. Pa fixed my flat iron handle. Sent Ma's teeth to me, also gave Sidney a picture of his mother that was there in the bureau drawer. Sidney cultivated a little, then took the horse back. Maude and Memphis walked back with him. 

Friday June 30th 1916

 I got up 5:45, drew off milk, fed pig calves and chickens before the rest were up except Pa. Picked berries, all of us got 2 crates and Cassy and I picked 20 qts over to bring home. James came and brought us home. Marian and Myrtle came, Susie traded a goose and a guinea hen for 2 hens. She gave me some butter an a pail of milk to bring home. When we got to Bisbo's our girls rode home having just finished, they got tickets cashed, Sidney, Maude and Memphis went home with James.

Sunday June 11th 1916

Rainy a.m., p.m., fair eve. Evening cloudy. Mora came home at noon. Went back at 7 p.m. acrost. Sidney, Maud and Memphis went down to hold a meeting but so few came they decided to wait. Pa and James drove up p.m., staid to supper. They brought a pail of buttermilk.

Monday May 15th 1916

Rainy, thunder showers all night. Children went to school except Mora. She went to Elmer Cottet's at 5 p.m.. Other children went to Cassy Potters after school, she gave our Cassy a nice little new hat. Mora and Lillian went to Johnson's to get a little sour milk. Mrs.J. gave them cookies. Pa's birthday. Mrs. Russel came for flowers. Put Maud's duck setting.

Saturday August 21, 1915

Cool, clear until 10 a.m., commenced to rain, kept at it steadily all day. Sidney cut brush till it rained. went to W. Monroe 3 p.m., got home at 6 awful wet having come from the Munger hill through the hard rain. He heard that Peter and George Ausman were caught stealing chickens.

Friday July 9, 1915

Nice cool day. Rec'd card from Sidney. Elder Sypher came over a few minutes. James and Peter came, brought the things I order'd off Susie. Two dogs were after our hens and rabbits. 4o'clock this morning I got up and drove them off. Mora hoe's 4 1/2 rows today. I set the rest of the bean poles and hilled a row of sweet corn. Maud got a little buttermilk off Mamie Russel. Liza Moon was getting signers to try and keep the mail route. I signed for Sidney.

Saturday May 15, 1915

Cold wind. I planted 1 row potatoes in the garden. Sidney came at 8:30 p.m. from Mell's pretty tired. Pa's birthday.

Sunday September 13, 1914

Beautiful day. Mina and a friend came in an auto. Also Peter was at James's, he took him home. p.m. Mina said she was coming for a weeks visit with us in about a month.

Tuesday August 25, 1914

Fair, lovely day. Catholic picnic at Piguet woods, Mallory. James, Susie and Pa have all gone. Sidney, Mora and I picked cucumbers.

Friday May 15, 1914

Fair day, cold wind. Sidney cleaned out the cellar and opened the drain. Children went to school. I rec'd a letter from Adelle, Pa's birthday, 76 years old. This is the end of the term.

Friday March 27, 1914

A heavy fog nearly all day, rained all a.m. and cleared a little about noon then fog again. Commenced to rain a little at 7 p.m. The ice has broken up in the creek and quite a lot in the pond. An awful jam by the bridge, it makes a awful noise. Ice and water nearly came up to the bridge before any of the ice gave way and went under. Sidney went out and loosened a lot of it and helped to get it started on it's way. Thundered and lightened this morning. Maud did not go to school it was so bad today. Mora is improving fast. Got a card from Susie saying Pa was bad off would like to see him but I can not tell whether or not I will be able to.

Saturday Feb. 14, 1914

It snow'd last night and has snow'd nearly all day clearing at nightfall, a little colder again wind in the north tonight. There is more snow on the ground now than at any timie before this winter. Lewis Morey told Sidney that Pa was sick and James had a sore throat, he also said James wanted to trade a goose with us for ducks. Sidney sent Mrs. Burts boraxine to her by Claude.
