Thursday September 7th 1916

 Hot, nice showers at evening. Sidney went to West Monroe a.m., dug a few potato's p.m. The Polish man dug a few also a.m. Paul and I have not felt very well today. Sidney wrote to Hannah.

Wednesday August 23rd 1916

 Thunder shower in the ight, lousy and some rain today, cooler. Sidney went to West Monroe a.m. and p.m. went over to Cary's and got a few duchess apples. Mora and I picked a few berries, rec'd a letter from Mina.

Monday July 31st 1916

 Very hot. Sidney went to W Monroe a.m., got flour and meds. Rode both ways with Leon Muckey with Potter's cheese rig.

Monday July 24th 1916

 Very warm. Sidney went to W. Monroe a.m. got a ride both ways. We hilled potatoes. Children pulled weeds and went to Russel's to play an hour, p.m. 

Monday July 17th 1916

Hot day. Sidney went to W. Monroe, got feed and groceries. Rode past way both ways. Mora, Memphis and Cassy picked berries for Cassy Potter. Mora went to Sloson's and got her clothes tonight. 

Saturday July 1st 1916

 Warm. Sidney came at 10 a.m. He went first to W. Monroe, got a lot of groceries and feed. Marguerite came with him. Pa fixed my flat iron handle. Sent Ma's teeth to me, also gave Sidney a picture of his mother that was there in the bureau drawer. Sidney cultivated a little, then took the horse back. Maude and Memphis walked back with him. 

Monday May 8th, 1916

Had a good shower a.m., thunder shower p.m.. Sidney went to West Monroe a.m., got corn,  and Maud went to take the milk train, p.m., for Fulton. Children went to school, Mora came home at noon, called on Mrs. Siegert this eve.

Saturday April 8, 1916

Snowed hard p.m. but did not last long. Sidney went to W. Monroe, got groceries and meal. Started a little after 6, got back at 10 a.m.

Thursday March 30, 1916

White frost this morning, beautiful day. Sidney went to W. Monroe early around on the Pinnacle. Helped James tap trees, got an ax helve, some pop corn and left there 5:30. Went to W. Monroe, got some groceries and got home about 8 p.m. I finished my washing, Mora ironed some. We all have got colds except Sidney.

Thursday March 16, 1916

Fair, clear and cold. Sidney wanted to work but Alf. did not come about 9 a.m. Sidney went there and they were just getting breakfast. Alf. did not want to work so S. went to W. Monroe, got some corn and meal. Rode with Frank Cronan some both ways. Lost our bag. Sidney, Mora and Maud have gone to meeting tonight. Mora and Maud rode back with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hubbard. Claud Bryant converted.

Tuesday October 26, 1915

 Sidney went to West Monroe p.m. got some groceries and meal, got a ride both ways with John {unable to read, ripped} in his auto. Sent $1.00 to County. Children went to school.

Saturday September 4, 1915

Very hot again, seems like usual July weather. Sidney got home 6 p.m., had a ride to West Monroe from John Cobles (in auto) with Menzo Dunham, he brought a lot of groceries, a few plums and a pear, also a red astrachan apple. Bell brought a little milk this eve., her and Mora got another big pail of string beans p.m. We had a big mess for supper. I canned 3 can's today.

Monday August 30, 1915

Cloudy, cold. Sidney rode as far as Bisbo's corner with Edd Cottett, then walked to W. Monroe and back, got 20# meal, finished Bell's brush and dug some of our potatoes. They are small. He kept very busy. Maud went to school, Mora got there at the same time, but as the register's had not come, they came home at noon. They said they liked the teacher very much. She was very much disappointed to have to close school just as it had began. Mora started across so as to get there at 5 and eat supper with Letta, so not to disappoint her. She was expecting her.

Saturday August 21, 1915

Cool, clear until 10 a.m., commenced to rain, kept at it steadily all day. Sidney cut brush till it rained. went to W. Monroe 3 p.m., got home at 6 awful wet having come from the Munger hill through the hard rain. He heard that Peter and George Ausman were caught stealing chickens.

Friday August 13, 1915

Sidney cut brush a.m., cultivated and went through potatoes with shovel plow p.m. Had House's old horse and at 5 o'clock went to W. Monroe, got a lot of groceries. Rode with Frank Cary down on his motor, got home 9 p.m.

Friday August 6, 1915

Rained hard nearly all day. Sidney went to West Monroe a.m., got a back load of groceries. Frank Cary called on his motor p.m.

Tuesday August 3, 1915

Rained hard. Sidney cut brush a little while this morning and went to West Monroe, got home a little after noon. A severe wind has raised havoc with crops, everything flat to the ground. Mamie came.

Monday July 26, 1915

Rained in the night and all a.m. Sidney went to W. Monroe got 15# meal, got home at noon. Hoed p.m.

Tuesday June 29, 1915

Hot stuffy day. Rec'd a letter from Mina. Children got more berries for shortcake. Seymour Moon buried, funeral at W. Monroe, 2 o'clock. I hoe'd and planted in some wax beans.

Friday April 30, 1915

Rained hard today. Maud and Memphis got wet going back to school at noon. Sidney went to West Monroe early. Got some hen feed, a sack or graham, a can of milk and a bar of soap. Baby is not well.
