Saturday October 7th 1916

 Fair. Memphis is 10 years old. Sidney went to Fulton a.m., got home at 3 p.m. Got a letter from Aunt Adaline, 1 from Mina, and card from Philys R. and several other letters. Maud went with Vera and been to Florence's twice. Loren Wood came hunting, told me we could have some cabbage. Memphis went over and got 4 heads. Cassy and Lillian with her. Mora gone to spend the night with Vera. 

Sunday September 10th 1916

 Fair, rather an uneventful day. Man Phillys gave Mora and Lillian a box of candy. Called a while in the evening. 

Monday August 7th 1916

 Hot. Sidney and I picked a few black berries a.m. hoed p.m. I rec'd a card from Lillian Smith, sent from  Conn.

Saturday June 17th 1916

Showery. Sidney's birthday, 44 years old. Went to Besonson's , got a lot of groceries. Bell Allen came, borrowed yeast cakes. Lillian went with the girls to practice. p.m. Mora came home from Cottet's p.m. Maud went to next house, got 1 qrt. milk. We had strawberry shortcake.

Monday May 15th 1916

Rainy, thunder showers all night. Children went to school except Mora. She went to Elmer Cottet's at 5 p.m.. Other children went to Cassy Potters after school, she gave our Cassy a nice little new hat. Mora and Lillian went to Johnson's to get a little sour milk. Mrs.J. gave them cookies. Pa's birthday. Mrs. Russel came for flowers. Put Maud's duck setting.

Wednesday May 10th 1916

Rainy. Lillian fell down stairs this morning, hurt her head. Nose bled awfully. Feverish all day and drowsy, slept most of the day. Children went to school. Mora did not come this way tonight.

Saturday October 23, 1915

Cold raw wind. I got up a 1 o'clock and drove Charles Runga's cattle out of our garden and they came right back and I drove them out again at 2. Mr. House put them in Fisher's lot and this morning they jumped over the fence and came back in our garden at noon again. {Unable to read, ripped} them as far as Johnson's, they have eaten {unable to read, ripped} cabbage, and some turnips too. Mora and Maud went over to Lettie's and also to Elmer Cottett's a.m. Blanche gave them each a pumpkin. Mr. House gave Lillian a *toque that was Hazel's. Bell came a.m. a little while. Sidney got home at 9 p.m. having walked from Brewerton. He brought some groceries from Claud Davy's.

Saturday September 25, 1915

A very nice day. Mr. House came early for Sidney to help him cut corn. Came again to have Lillian come up to his house, as Hazel wanted to give her some little dresses. She gave her four, a little pair drawers and gave a little coat to Cassie. Mora came home just before dark, brought some bean vines and all butter beans.

Friday September 17, 1915

Hot until 3 p.m., turned suddenly cold. Acts like a hard frost was next to come. Children went to school. Memphis, Cassie and Lillian went to Curtis's party. had a lovely time. Maud went to take a card to him and Hazel gave her also some candy, ice cream and cake. Mr. House gave me about 2 bu. corn for the stalks he got here. Alfred Russel brought over a few summer squashes. Fay Sypher borrowed a hammer and a hoe, they are moving now.

Wednesday September 15, 1915

Awfully warm again. A series of thunder showers from 4 p.m. on in the night. Memphis got a ride with H. Munger and his children. Mora stopped to get a pumpkin. Maud waited for her and both came near getting wet. Stopped to House's until it stopped a bit. Bell brought over two little pails for dinner. Mamie sent a little dress for me to stitch, gave me a little sour milk and a little sweet too. Let her have a small loaf of bread. I did the rest of washing this p.m. Got off of Mr. Wilson, 1 graham, 1 salt, 1 soap, 1/4 mustard and 2 red cross for .40c. Sold 1 doz. 8 eggs for .24c/doz. Sent letter to Sidney in Lysander. Hazel sent an invitation for Memphis, Cassie and Lillian to attend a birthday party for Curtis Friday.

Sunday August 15, 1915

Showery. Sidney, Mora, Maud, and Lillian attended church. Bell called a little while evening, gave her string beans. We had a fine blackberry pie for dinner.

Monday June 21, 1915

Fair. Sidney went to H. Bryants and around by Claud's but did not find Claud home a.m., went to Bisbo's eve. Mora hoe'd some in the garden, other children went out p.m. I did quite a washing. Lillian and Paul worrisome.

Thursday June 17, 1915

Hot. Sidney's birthday. He worked for Floyd all day. Maud and Lillian breaking out a little. Mora is out, she picked a few strawberries and we had shortcake for supper. She also caught a little wild gray rabbit. Mr. Willson came. I got 10# graham, 10# meal, 5# of gran. sugar and a can of red cross milk.

Monday June 7, 1915

Hot again today. Sidney and Maud finished the potatoes today and put on 1 hundred and 25# phosphate on them. Mora has been pretty sick all day, has measles alright, but it is a mystery where she got them. Memphis and Cassie got quite a few wild strawberries. Lillian has a stone bruise on her heel. Sidney and Maud went over to Cary's this eve. got a few potatoes and bargained for more. Borrowed lantern.

Tuesday May 11, 1915

Lovely day. Maud and Cassie went to school. I washed and fainted clear away before I could get the clothes out. Mora threw water on me and rubbed me with camphor. After I felt better and finished my washing. Mora helped and I took a lot of care of baby. Memphis is getting better but Lillian has kept me awake 2 nights, am about used up. A. Russel gave us a big wood chuck, he dressed it, our ducks came up tonight alone.

Wednesday April 14, 1915

Floyd came this morning after another load. I got a ride with Mr. Johnson, so took Lillian and the baby. I got awfully cold and the baby was blue. First time I had been outdoors or baby. Mrs. Johnson made me a cup of peppermint and it warmed us all up. We ate dinner there and then Mr. Johnson took us over to the house. Sidney and the rest of the children came with Floyd. Jannie was at Johnson's and Herb Munger's children. Herb and Elsie were at the funeral of his nephew, operator's little son at Hastings.

Saturday February 6, 1915

Rainy most of the day. Sidney came at about 1 p.m. Mailed a letter to Lillian. C.D. brought wood eve.

Thursday February 4, 1915

Beautiful bright day, growing milder p.m. Maud went to school, took her lunch. Mora and Cassie have a hard cold. Maud's and Lillian's cold are much better.

Thursday January 21, 1915

Lillian is two years old, Murl Piquet is seven. Mora and Maud took examinations, came home to dinner. Rec'd a letter from Sidney, included .35c, mailed at Mexico. A very nice snowfall, large flakes, just like the first of April. Real pleasant. P. Maruney called to see Sidney p.m. Mina married.

Thursday December 24, 1914

A baby girl at Guy and Edith Pierce's. Bitter cold. I rec'd a letter from Lillian Smith, she sent some lace to Lillian and a tie to me. Mora and Maud went to school.
