Saturday October 7th 1916

 Fair. Memphis is 10 years old. Sidney went to Fulton a.m., got home at 3 p.m. Got a letter from Aunt Adaline, 1 from Mina, and card from Philys R. and several other letters. Maud went with Vera and been to Florence's twice. Loren Wood came hunting, told me we could have some cabbage. Memphis went over and got 4 heads. Cassy and Lillian with her. Mora gone to spend the night with Vera. 

Friday October 6th 1916

 Fair, hot day. I finished my washing a.m., am not feeling very good. I went to Bernices and got some buttermilk this p.m. Vera here all eve. Maud went to Pervcival's p.m., went in house. Glen has the mumps.

Wednesday October 4th 1916

 Fair, hot day. I washed. Sidney went over north. Maud went to Percival's. Got graham, a pencil tablet and 2 sticks of candy. p.m. 4 girls went to Bernice's to play. Samantha and James came down after them to go. 

Monday September 18th 1916

 Rainy night last night. Clearing in morning. Fred came at 1 p.m. after dinner, loaded up and started for Volney at 6 p.m. Sidney, Maud and Memphis went with him. Cold Night. Bell and Mrs. Russel came p.m. Cassy sick. 

Wednesday August 16th 1916

 Very warm. I picked a pail of huckleberries, caned 2 cans. Sidney got 5 qts of long johns. Maud and Memphis took them to Bisbo's, the Russel girls went with them. Mora and Cassie went as far as Russels to meet them. Mrs Russel said Grace Gearsbeck died last night of *infantile paralysis and was buried this morning. Also, Welcome and baby were very ill.

Sunday August 13th 1916

 Cloudy a.m. and rainy early p.m., fair moon is beautiful tonight. Sidney, Mora, Maud and Mable have gone to meeting this evening. Rev. Conklyn will preach, got home at 10 p.m. Went to bed and before we were asleep at 11, James drove in.

Saturday, August 12th 1916

 Looks lousy and sprinkled some. Sidney picked 3 qts of blackberries for a shortcake and huckleberries for pies. Children picked a few. Mora and Maud rode with the Cotett girl, went to Little France. Got 10# sugar, a pkg of oats, 1# soda and lamp chimney. Sidney went to  Gayville to quarterly meeting this ee, got home at 11 p.m.

Sunday August 6th 1916

Hot and awfully dusty. Auto's make an awful fog.  Sidney, Mora and Maud went to S.S. Sidney was so hoarse, he could not preach but he has gone to Gayville this evening, got along alright. Got .70 cents collection.

Sunday July 30th 1916

Awfully hot. Sidney and 5 girls went to S.S (Sunday school) and Sidney conducted services a.m. and at Dutch Hill at 3 p.m. and Gayville 7:30 p.m. Lillian rode home with Mrs. Siegert. Maud Potter gave her some cookies. Sidney got .60 cents here, .40 cents at Dutch Hill and .92 cents at Gayville. 

Sunday July 23rd 1916

 Mable Piggah 13 years old. Hot, nice shower p.m. Sidney, Mora, and Maud went to church. Maud went home with Mildred Potter, came home eve. way around by the cheese factory, got home at 7 p.m.

Sunday July 16th 1916

 Maud is 12 years old. Very hot. Sidney and the 4 girls went to church. 3 younger rode down and back with Mr. Johnson. Maud was sick. Russel girls came here to play, and our girls went there a while, evening.

Thursday July 13th 1916

 Hot a.m. thunder shower p.m. Sidney went to Smith's at noon. Mora went to Potter's. Maud and Memphis to Bisbo's but as they were through picking they went with Mora. Cassy went down with them and brought back their money. Mr. Wilson said he could not get any flour, so I sent a card to Davy to bring us a sack. Children all had their dinner pails full of berries when they came back.

Wednesday July 12th 1916

 Hot, sultry with an occasional breeze. Mora rode past way over to Little France a.m., got some rolled oats and sugar. Maud, Memphis and Cassy went and picked a l0 qrt pail. Also a carrier of berries at Mr. Cary's for us to eat p.m. Sidney went to draw hay at Mr. Smith's but it rained before they got fairly started for the first load.

Tuesday July 11th 1916

 Hot, sultry all day. Maud and Memphis picked berries at Bisbo's all day. Mora at Potter's. Sidney went with her and picked berries until noon, and worked in hay at Smith's p.m.  Supper there. I planted more potatoes.

Monday July 10th 1916

 Cloudy, close. Sidney worked at Smith in the hay from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mora, Maud and Memphis picked 40 qts of berries each. I finished planting he beans. Sidney stopped and picked 4 qts of strawberries at Cary's, brought home. 

Sunday July 9th 1916

Hot sultry day. Mary Dupra was buried. Rosco Bisbo went and got her in his car a.m. Mora, Maud and Memphis went to the funeral. Sidney picked red raspberries, so I made 3 pies and 3 little ones for their dinner pails.

Friday July 7th 1916

 Fair, hot day. Sidney and I cultivated with Frank Roggiski's horse. Mora picked berries for Cassy. Maud and Memphis for Bisbo's. I cooked the turtle mora got yesterday for supper.

Thursday July 6th 1916

 Beautiful bright warm day. Maud and Memphis picked berries at Bisbo's. Mora walked over on the Pinnacle and back, they were all gone. Sidney and I hoed. I got 5# graham, 5# soft a. sugar and yeast foam off Mr. Wilson, and flour comp. beans, soda off Davy.

Wednesday July 5th 1916

Fair, cool. Peter Dupra came for James' clothes a.m. Sidney and Cassy picked berries a.m. at Bisbo's. Maud and Memphis all day, caught another rabbit. Mora picked berries for Casey, came back and picked 4 qrts at Bisbo's pm. 

Tuesday July 4th 1916

 Sidney, Maud and Memphis picked berries for Bisbo. Cassy sent for Mora, so she came home, got her shoes and went over and picked, came home at night with the rest of them. Sidney caught 3 little rabbits in the berry field, brought 1 home. Rained hard at night. Mr. and Mrs. Sypher called eve.
