Wednesday September 15, 1915

Awfully warm again. A series of thunder showers from 4 p.m. on in the night. Memphis got a ride with H. Munger and his children. Mora stopped to get a pumpkin. Maud waited for her and both came near getting wet. Stopped to House's until it stopped a bit. Bell brought over two little pails for dinner. Mamie sent a little dress for me to stitch, gave me a little sour milk and a little sweet too. Let her have a small loaf of bread. I did the rest of washing this p.m. Got off of Mr. Wilson, 1 graham, 1 salt, 1 soap, 1/4 mustard and 2 red cross for .40c. Sold 1 doz. 8 eggs for .24c/doz. Sent letter to Sidney in Lysander. Hazel sent an invitation for Memphis, Cassie and Lillian to attend a birthday party for Curtis Friday.

Saturday April 3, 1915

Fair but a very cold raw wind. Sidney cut and drew us a load of wood, had Weatherups colt and gray horse. Mora and Maud went to Weatherups had maple sugar, Maud got some buttermilk for me. Hazel Lynch called. A priest boy died in Scriba, brought here for burial.

Saturday March 6, 1915

Stormy all day, clearing at night altho not cold. Sidney worked at Weatherups sawing wood all day. Mora staid with Mrs. Smith's and Boots's children p.m. While they went to Burts to get a bedstead for Mrs.Smith. Earl Boots came a.m. Mora washed a few things. Lynch's baby buried at Carlys Mills. Loved Mitchel's funeral sermon.

Thursday March 4, 1915

Beautiful warm day. Maud fell and hurt her knee this a.m. so did not attend school until p.m. Mora went all day. Both went to play with Avis after school. Sidney did the chores for Rev. Mitchel at noon and night as he is away. Brought about 1 1/2 qt of milk he milked. Frank Lynch's baby died 2 a.m this morning, pneumonia.

Sunday February 28, 1915

Ate our last squash today. Fair. Sidney, Mora and Maud went to church. Mrs. Smith came in twice. Hazel Lynch came in eve.

Thursday February 11, 1915

Sidney is as sick in bed nearly all a.m., some better p.m. We have all got the grippe. Maud is nearly over her cold but Mora is much worse altho bound to go to school. Hazel came down and got pickles p.m.

Thursday December 10, 1914

Mild day, quite mussy underfoot. Maud and Memphis took their dinner, Mora came home to dinner. Cassie went to P.O. 4 times, got a letter from Sidney and a P.O.Order for $2.00. Mora ordered 1/2 cord wood. Orla Courbat brought it and took 8 shillings instead of 7, as she should have done. Rec'd a card from Adell. Hazel Lynch brought the things I ordered off her, .25c worth.

Thursday December 3, 1914

Sidney started at 6 a.m. south. Mora attended a birthday dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Wm Shrader's in honor of Irene Piguet's 12th birthday, the invited ones were Irene, Hazel, Rose, Avis Weatherup and Mora. Each rec'd a lovely hair ribbon. Mora said they had a very nice dinner and a good time. Leslie Wires came in his car at 12 noon, ate dinner and he and Mina started back at 4 p.m. Very cloudy all day.

Saturday November 14, 1914

Fair. Mora and Hazel Lynch went to get something on their soap order, had poor luck. Hazel ate dinner here. Rec'd a letter from Sidney p.m. should have got it yesterday. He came on the 7 p.m brought back cabbage and some macaroni. James and Susie came p.m. and brought us some cabbage. Susie is looking very bad. Maud went to mill and got some corn.

Monday November 9, 1914

A lovely day. Sidney went to Scriba Center via Oswego, reached home 5 p.m. Failed to deliver scroll as his customer was sick. Children went to school. Hazel Lynch called, she is getting up a soap and notion order. I ordered 25c worth. I did a large washing.

Wednesday October 28, 1914

Sidney went away early a.m. with three scrolls, he expects to deliver between Fernwood and Texas. Children went to school. Sun warm, snow all gone tonight. Comenced to use the new road this p.m. Agnes came with a bundle of papers this morning. Hazel Lynch came with Mora and Maud p.m.

Saturday June 6, 1914

Fair cool all day. Sidney made a rabbit pen, cut some wood in Mallory's woods that he and Floyd White left last winter. Mora and Maud weeded onions at Weatherups a.m. David paid Mora $2.05 for 20 and 1/2 hours work at 10c per hour, did not pay Maud yet. Mora went to Weatherups tonight got 1 qt. milk. Clarence Porter brought their jackets, they forgot in the lot. Hazel Lynch and Vernice Courbat came with Lottie Baum p.m. to deliver the things I ordered off her, namely box tartan tar soap 10c pkg, darning needles 5c, the n.w.comp. she did not bring, someway omitted in her order. Memphis went to mill got corn, Castella to store for vinegar.

Saturday May 30, 1914

A lovely decoration day, we have all been very busy indeed. Sidney came on the 9 p.m. train but it was about 30 minutes late, rode back from station with Fay Courbat and Eddie Lynch.

Friday May 8, 1914

Pleasant all day. Mora went to Weatherups, Avis told her the minister and his family were going to moved on the Moon place. Rec'd a card from Sidney, mailed at Lacona. Floyd Lynch came to see our little rabbits early this morning, he had two little white rabbits in his pockets, said he got them off C. Burt. Gene Porter came to see them also, Agnes came and stayed until 11:30. Henry Rudeau has kept Cassie busy getting potatoes he plowed up, they are much nicer than if kept in a cellar. Caught some more little fish this evening

Sunday April 5, 1914

A cold west wind all day. Snowed in the night and kept at it until about 9 a.m. between 3 and 4 inches of snow fell here. Sidney and Mora went to church, no Sunday school on account of electing officers etc. Jennie Rice gone toward Little France under full head of stream. Floyd Lynch came down peddling his papers. Sidney went up to John House's and brought home 1/2 bu. potatoes, bought two bu. more and John is going to bring them down at $1.00 bu. I baked bread and cakes and well we all have to eat on the sabbath day same as any other.

Friday April 3, 1914

Cold raw wind all day, cold night. Sidney worked at Mallory's. Maud went to school came home to dinner, Mora went back with her p.m. to see about her arithmetic. Hazel Lynch had taken it home, Maud could not find it, Mora got it alright but it was dirty and also pretty roughhouse. Mora went to the P.O. twice and to school and also to Weatherup's, her eye's are quite a lot better now. Sidney is very tired, went to bed at 8 p.m. and come to think I am tired too. Did not sleep scarcely any last night and then short doses after two was sick all night. Mailed the letter to Mina a.m.

Monday March 30, 1914

Rained hard a.m., light mist p.m. Sidney went over by the [unable to read] p.m. A very gloomy day. Nellie Morey is quite sick with measles. Hazel Lynch came down about 4:30. Sidney rec'd a letter from Mr. Green.

Saturday Feb. 28, 1914

A real nice pleasant day. Sidney came home about 4pm did fairly well on his trip, came from Upsons courners staid over night with Elder Bowman in Palermo, went up to Lewis's and got some groceries in evening. Henry Porter, Clarence and Eugene and Mrs. Porter's brother Andrew Bargy came to see Sidney and spent the evening. Hazel Lynch came p.m to have Mora go to Weatherup's with her, Mora went and got a pail of very nice buttermilk. Sidney rec'd a letter from Joe Little.

Monday Feb. 23, 1914

Turned cold about 4 a.m. has been a piercing cold day all day with a rough north wind, the children nearly froze going to and coming home from school. Mora and Hazel Lynch went home with Avis Weatherup to get buttermilk. Sidney went to Brewerton, took a bottle of voilet toilet water for Kittie Woodard rec'd 50c for it also a jar of rose talcum powder for Mina 15c, this is the last to be delivered. Sidney said it was much colder out there and very cold coming home. He walked both ways and nearly colapsed on the way back. Bert Piquet came to see about Sidney helping cut some log's and Mrs. Beasonson called to see him about cutting some wood. She wants to cut her shade trees by the house.
