Friday May 19th 1916

Bright, beautiful day, between 4 and 5, thunder shower, then clear. 3 girls went to school, a.m. Maud and Memphis rode over on the Pinnacle with Pete Dupra at 6:30 p.m. I got 10# meal, 5 graham and 2 thread off of Mr. Wilson, a.m.. Hazel Kent gave Maud a pr. of shoes she had outgrown. I did a good big washing.

Tuesday May 9th, 1916

Fair, quite cool. Children went to school. Mora came home and got some clothes and went over to stay with Blanch Cottett. Hazel Williams has another baby girl.

Sunday March 12, 1916

Wind. South looks like a thaw. Snowing some. Sidney went to meeting in daytime and also eve. Mora went too. Hubbard's folks called for them to ride with them. 4 converts, Mrs. Keich, and Hazel, Gail McClymond and Harry Graves.

Saturday October 23, 1915

Cold raw wind. I got up a 1 o'clock and drove Charles Runga's cattle out of our garden and they came right back and I drove them out again at 2. Mr. House put them in Fisher's lot and this morning they jumped over the fence and came back in our garden at noon again. {Unable to read, ripped} them as far as Johnson's, they have eaten {unable to read, ripped} cabbage, and some turnips too. Mora and Maud went over to Lettie's and also to Elmer Cottett's a.m. Blanche gave them each a pumpkin. Mr. House gave Lillian a *toque that was Hazel's. Bell came a.m. a little while. Sidney got home at 9 p.m. having walked from Brewerton. He brought some groceries from Claud Davy's.

Saturday September 25, 1915

A very nice day. Mr. House came early for Sidney to help him cut corn. Came again to have Lillian come up to his house, as Hazel wanted to give her some little dresses. She gave her four, a little pair drawers and gave a little coat to Cassie. Mora came home just before dark, brought some bean vines and all butter beans.

Friday September 17, 1915

Hot until 3 p.m., turned suddenly cold. Acts like a hard frost was next to come. Children went to school. Memphis, Cassie and Lillian went to Curtis's party. had a lovely time. Maud went to take a card to him and Hazel gave her also some candy, ice cream and cake. Mr. House gave me about 2 bu. corn for the stalks he got here. Alfred Russel brought over a few summer squashes. Fay Sypher borrowed a hammer and a hoe, they are moving now.

Wednesday September 15, 1915

Awfully warm again. A series of thunder showers from 4 p.m. on in the night. Memphis got a ride with H. Munger and his children. Mora stopped to get a pumpkin. Maud waited for her and both came near getting wet. Stopped to House's until it stopped a bit. Bell brought over two little pails for dinner. Mamie sent a little dress for me to stitch, gave me a little sour milk and a little sweet too. Let her have a small loaf of bread. I did the rest of washing this p.m. Got off of Mr. Wilson, 1 graham, 1 salt, 1 soap, 1/4 mustard and 2 red cross for .40c. Sold 1 doz. 8 eggs for .24c/doz. Sent letter to Sidney in Lysander. Hazel sent an invitation for Memphis, Cassie and Lillian to attend a birthday party for Curtis Friday.

Saturday September 11, 1915

Cloudy nearly all day. Sidney cut a few brush, cut us some wood. He is pretty tired though from his lug. Mora and Maud rode over to Little France with Mrs. House and Hazel. Hazel staid, Mora went on to Mallory to stay over with Avis. Maud came back with Mrs. House. Took 1 doz. eggs (24c/doz). Got 2 qrts oil, 1 thread and bal. print. Mora came home from Bryant's a.m. with their dog following her, also an old cat and three kittens in a bag.

Wednesday July 14, 1915

Hot sultry day. Mora went to Bisbo's, got tickets cashed and went to Cassy Potter's and picked 2 qts. strawberries. Cassy would not take any pay for them, gave Mora and Cassie each a cookie. Mrs. House and Hazel called p.m. I gave Mrs. H. petunia plants. I got 1/2 flour and 1 red cross of Mr. Willson, 1 doz. eggs, rec'd 20cents.

Friday June 11, 1915

Two nice showers did a lot of good. Sidney suffering a severe toothache. Bell Allen brought some milk over. I gave her some tomato plants and she gave me a few cabbage plants. I set them out in the garden, also set some tomatoes plants. I did quite a washing. Hazel Weaver brought some bananas and lemons.

Wednesday June 9, 1915

Fair, with a nice shower p.m. Sidney finished hoeing the garden a.m. it looks fine. He also dress'd the turtle, it was full of eggs. Got 10# meal off of Willson. Mora is a little stronger, but still has a very raking cough. Mrs. Hazel Weaver called p.m. a little while.

Saturday April 3, 1915

Fair but a very cold raw wind. Sidney cut and drew us a load of wood, had Weatherups colt and gray horse. Mora and Maud went to Weatherups had maple sugar, Maud got some buttermilk for me. Hazel Lynch called. A priest boy died in Scriba, brought here for burial.

Sunday February 28, 1915

Ate our last squash today. Fair. Sidney, Mora and Maud went to church. Mrs. Smith came in twice. Hazel Lynch came in eve.

Friday February 12, 1915

A nice day, looks more settled now, altho a mist early a.m. Sidney and Pat cut wood p.m. Hazel and Verda came p.m. and brought a small sack onions and some celery. I gave her some pickles to take home. Mora went to Weatherups a little while p.m. I did quite a big washing.

Thursday February 11, 1915

Sidney is as sick in bed nearly all a.m., some better p.m. We have all got the grippe. Maud is nearly over her cold but Mora is much worse altho bound to go to school. Hazel came down and got pickles p.m.

Saturday December 12, 1914

Quite pleasant, not very cold. Susie and Marguerite came p.m. I let them have a brown leghorn rooster. Earl and Hazel Boots here all p.m. Sidney came home on the 7 p.m. brought 25lbs. macaroni from Syracuse factory, also a pretty good pair gunmetal shoes he got at bargain .15c.

Thursday December 10, 1914

Mild day, quite mussy underfoot. Maud and Memphis took their dinner, Mora came home to dinner. Cassie went to P.O. 4 times, got a letter from Sidney and a P.O.Order for $2.00. Mora ordered 1/2 cord wood. Orla Courbat brought it and took 8 shillings instead of 7, as she should have done. Rec'd a card from Adell. Hazel Lynch brought the things I ordered off her, .25c worth.

Thursday December 3, 1914

Sidney started at 6 a.m. south. Mora attended a birthday dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Wm Shrader's in honor of Irene Piguet's 12th birthday, the invited ones were Irene, Hazel, Rose, Avis Weatherup and Mora. Each rec'd a lovely hair ribbon. Mora said they had a very nice dinner and a good time. Leslie Wires came in his car at 12 noon, ate dinner and he and Mina started back at 4 p.m. Very cloudy all day.

Saturday November 14, 1914

Fair. Mora and Hazel Lynch went to get something on their soap order, had poor luck. Hazel ate dinner here. Rec'd a letter from Sidney p.m. should have got it yesterday. He came on the 7 p.m brought back cabbage and some macaroni. James and Susie came p.m. and brought us some cabbage. Susie is looking very bad. Maud went to mill and got some corn.

Monday November 9, 1914

A lovely day. Sidney went to Scriba Center via Oswego, reached home 5 p.m. Failed to deliver scroll as his customer was sick. Children went to school. Hazel Lynch called, she is getting up a soap and notion order. I ordered 25c worth. I did a large washing.
