Sunday August 20th 1916

 Very warm. No meetings now on account of that disease scare. Harry House called at noon.

Wednesday May 17th 1916

Rainy. Sidney rode with Arthur Getman to Geo. Mungers, brought home 1 bu potatoes, gone to Harry Hubbards this eve. Mr. Russel came to see our mailbox.

Friday April 14, 1916

Rainy. Harry House called to ask Sidney to help him, p.m., but it rained so hard he did not go. Alf. Russel came and moved his furniture in the rain. Ducks did not come up tonight. Sidney and I looked for them but did not find them. Snowed some.

Monday April 3, 1916

Froze quite thick ice last night. Everything white with frost this morning. Lovely all day. Mrs. Russel and her two grandchildren came a.m., she borrowed some soda. Sidney finished turning the orchard, it looks fine. Harry House brought the shoe strings Sidney forgot and left on counter at Beasonson's on Saturday. Mora went to Bell's, carried a bottle of oil to Maud Cronan, also went down to Nell Fisher's and got some wrappers Nell gave her to cut over for the little ones. Maud stepped on a nail, pierced her big toe quite bad.

Friday March 24, 1916

Fair. Sidney worked for H. Russel. Mora went to school. Sidney went to Jim Potters and got another half bu. turnips last night.

Saturday March 18, 1916

Clear, not so cold. Alf. said he could not work as he had to go to store. Sidney cut us wood a.m. and went to quarterly meeting p.m. Harry Howard called and went with him eve. Sidney went and got a pail of milk at E.B. Potter's also qrt. of vinegar at Elmer Cottets.

Thursday March 16, 1916

Fair, clear and cold. Sidney wanted to work but Alf. did not come about 9 a.m. Sidney went there and they were just getting breakfast. Alf. did not want to work so S. went to W. Monroe, got some corn and meal. Rode with Frank Cronan some both ways. Lost our bag. Sidney, Mora and Maud have gone to meeting tonight. Mora and Maud rode back with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hubbard. Claud Bryant converted.

Sunday March 12, 1916

Wind. South looks like a thaw. Snowing some. Sidney went to meeting in daytime and also eve. Mora went too. Hubbard's folks called for them to ride with them. 4 converts, Mrs. Keich, and Hazel, Gail McClymond and Harry Graves.

Thursday October 28, 1915

Beautiful day, white frost last night. Ice in tub. Thunder and lightening'd all eve. I got 10# graham, 1 red cross, and 1 lenox soap off Mr. Wilson. Sold him 11 eggs at .38c/doz. I let Bell have 4 eggs. Children went to school. Brought their dinner pails full of sweet apple's from Cronins. Harry put putty on two lights of window.

Monday October 25, 1915

A beautiful white frost this morning. Harry House came in here while watching cows this morning. Sidney went up to Dutch Hill a.m. and took a scroll to Brocket's. Cut wood p.m. Children went to school.

Tuesday October 12, 1915

Another nice day. Columbus Day, no school. Sidney finished digging the lower piece of potatoes. Just about got back the seed. He brought up a couple small pumpkins. Cut some wood p.m. Mora came home early. Harry House shot 2 squirrels and gave to Sidney. I cooked them with pork. Sidney wrote a budget of news. I have a hard cold in head and throat.

Wednesday September 29, 1915

Another frost, awfully cold morning but a fair day. A big hawk came through the window this morning at 6:30, breaking a big pane. Not a piece left in that side of the sash. Frightened us all about to death. I got hold of it but it was too quick and got away going back through the hole it made. Mrs. House and Harry and Curtis came over this eve. and nailed some shingles in until they could get a light of glass. Bell came nearly dark and brought a little milk. We got a can of milk and 10# graham off of Mr. Wilson. Sold 2 doz. eggs at .28c/doz. Memphis went to school only p.m. Rec'd a card from Mr. Higley, wrote him a letter, could not send it.

Sunday August 1, 1915

Hot. Sidney and Maud went to church. Maud rode with Mrs. Siegert, they decided to hold the S.S. picnic Thursday Aug. 14th at Joe Slosson's. Sidney took a walk with Bell's cow. Harry House came eve.

Monday July 12, 1915

Warm. Sidney went to Chas. Hess's, got groceries early in the morning, called at House's eve. Harry came to see the Royal Scroll. Mr. Sypher came p.m., he and Sidney had a splendid visit judging from the noise.

Wednesday May 12, 1915

Nice balmy day. Maud and Cassie went to school. Memphis carried their dinner down as far as Sypher's at noon. Mr. Willson came, we got 2# corn, 2 thread, a sack salt and a can of milk. Let him have 2 1/2 doz. eggs. Harry House dragged our garden. Mora made a flower bed in front of house. I am awfully weak and faint at times but try to keep going. Gave the Elder cucumber, pumpkin and summer squash seed and House's delicious seed.

Thursday October 1, 1914

Another fine day. Rec'd a letter froom Mina, she is at Harry Hurds Hotel at work. Susie took a load of apples to Charlie Simmond's for cider. James and several others gone deer hunting.

Thursday August 13, 1914

Pleasant day. Sidney, Maud and Memphis and I also James and Susie went berrying. Got 11 qts huckleberries and 6 qts. blackberries. James and Susie got 4 qts blackberries. Sidney and James took a crate to Jock Hess, Constantia. Harry Kittell called p.m.

Monday June 8, 1914

Rained this morning so Sidney cut us some wood and went on the 2 to Parish, intends to canvaas toward Mexico. I washed after Sidney went away. First line full all in and filled the line with white clothes at 8 this evening. Johnnie Vinney is moving Harry's furniture home today.

Thursday June 4, 1914

Rained hard a.m. cold p.m. but no rain. Set tomatoes out. Harry Vinney's wife was buried today, funeral 10 o'clock at Little France.

Monday June 1, 1914

Lillian walks all over alone. Lovely day. Sidney stayed home today, except going to borrow Lee Burgan's drake. Mora and Maud went to Weatherups for milk, Maud went to the mill got corn. Harry Vinney's wife died at 7:20 a.m.. Mrs. Lydia Boots came p.m. with her children.
