Thursday March 18, 1915

Mr. Weatherup gave Sidney a bu. of apples. Snow'd quite a little. I got up and altho quite weak I have kept up all day. Made a night dress for the baby besides other little jobs. I washed baby myself this morning. Edith Pierce gave Maud a pail of oyster stew left over from their St. Patrick dance. Mrs. Weatherup and Avis called this evening to see the baby. Maud and Memphis at school.

Wednesday March 10, 1915

Beautiful warm sunny day, cold nights. Maud and Memphis at school. Mrs. Dainis came and washed the baby, she made a little blanket and brought some cloth for bands. Mrs. Mallory and Edith Pierce called p.m. Mrs. M. sent me some sweet milk. Rev. Mitchel called eve. Mrs. C. Ames brought a bag of nice apples, a qt. can of sauce and a roll of sausage this eve. on her way to prayer meeting. Erma M. came in to see the baby. I sent a card to Mina.

Saturday January 23, 1915

Snowed and rained in the night and some snow today, much milder than yesterday. Pierce's sold 40 numbers at their last night dance. Mora and Maud went to the mill for feed and three times to the store. Mora got a ride home with a basket full of groceries with Will Strickland. We had popcorn balls which were very good indeed.

Thursday December 24, 1914

A baby girl at Guy and Edith Pierce's. Bitter cold. I rec'd a letter from Lillian Smith, she sent some lace to Lillian and a tie to me. Mora and Maud went to school.

Sunday August 9, 1914

Hot as usual. Sidney went over p.m. and got our hens, one chicken got away from him. Fred Simmons came back with him from Pierces. They picked a qt. blackberries by road side coming back.

Sunday July 19, 1914

Beautiful all day. Sidney, Maud, and Memphis went to Sunday School. Sidney went to preaching also. William Allen came a.m. went back on his wheel about 4 p.m. We had a blackcap shortcake for dinner. Susie came near eve. brought a qt. can of red raspberries and a qt. can of sour cream. Mora went up to Pierce's and bot a quartes worth of ice cream. We had cream and cake this evening.

Tuesday July 14, 1914

Cloudy but warm a.m. a little cooler p.m. and a couple nice showers. Sidney went to Pulaski on the 2 this morning to deliver 5 scrolls. Sent the box up to Pierces by the buss. Mora went up and got it. Spencer Shelden came a while to see the rabbits, he expects to go home tomorrow. M. Silverman came, Mora bot a pr. of nice hose for herself 25c. Sidney took the Sears Roebuck order to mail for their shoes, he got home 10p.m. train a little late. Delivered 3 scrolls brought 2 back. Bot 6 sticks liberty pole gum for children at Port Ontario, bot an orange for Lillian and 1/2 peck new potatoes.

Wednesday July 8, 1914

Hot a.m. Partly cloudy and quite cool p.m. Mora pulled weeds at Weatherups 8 hours, rec'd $2.00. A letter came from T. Lipsky saying his father was dead, a card also from Herick that the scrolls were at the station, a card came this eve from Mr. Higley. I opened the sore on Maud's toe this morning and a lot of pus came out it made her feel better right away. Edith Pierce and Guy's nephew Spencer Sheldon came this evening, I found a young rabbit dead. James and Susie and their baby Myrtle drove in at nine p.m. staid until 11, brought me two qts. cherries. Mr. Lane of Central Square came p.m. I ordered 2 pair stockings for Maud and Memphis each, one for Sidney.

Friday May 29, 1914

Warm all day close and stuffy tonight. Rec'd a letter from Sidney, mailed one to him at Pulaski also rec'd one from Adell, Hamilton. Memphis went to the mill also to store. Cassie went to P.O. twice, Maud went after the milk. Mora helped me and I sewed some, have not felt a bit good today. A dance at Guy Pierces tonight, Lawrence Harrington stopped, wanted to get a rabbit having lost one of his.

Wednesday March 18, 1914

Warm thawy, snowed hard a.m. not quite so hard p.m. Almost rain, does rain fine like mist tonight. Della and Lenard Shield came a little while a.m., had been to the Pierce dance. Rec'd a card from Mina A. Sidney did not work only a short time on account of the storm his clothes were about wet through. He got Henry Rudeau to draw us a load of wood from C. Corbat. Orlie C. is sick with measles, Iva just came down with measles.

Tuesday March 17, 1914

Warm clear day. Mora and Maud went to school. Sidney worked for P. Marruney all day. John Gehr is moving Millie's folks in his tenant house (back,) sent $6.50 to Larkins Soap Co., also a card to A.D.S.A. Dance at Pierces tonight. (St. Patricks)

Tuesday Feb. 24, 1914

John phoned up to Guy to come and tell us Sidney was to work. A cold day 40 below zero at George Courbat's office at a.m. Sidney went up to the P.O. p.m and John Gehr wanted him to go to the bee and work for him. Charles Hoyet had a bee to draw his wood as his slieghs burned when Emery Pierce set his barn of fire early last fall. All his farm tools and five cows burned. Geo. Courbat's team went and Chars. Courbat's, Clint Mallory's and Ernie Leonards besides about eight men loading wood only took about 2 hours to load and draw out 20 cord of wood. Mora and Maud went to school this p.m, they were very cold when they came home. After supper Mora went to the P.O. to mail Sidney's letter to Mr. Green and get a qt. of vinegar, they are all out so she could not get it.

Thursday Feb. 12, 1914

A cold raw day. Mora delivered some of her things Mrs S. Fiddler a box of glyerine soap 25c, Mrs. G Pierce 2 boxes washing compound 30c, Mrs. Rudeau a box of washing compound 15c, Mr. Henderson 1 bx. writing paper [page ripped] envelopes 25c, 2 bars Maid O Mist soap 10c, 1 horn pocket comb 15c and also a stick of shaving soap to Mrs. Boots she said she would have to stop in some time when Freddie was home to get the 10c however.

Friday Feb. 6, 1914

Another clear day with a cold east wind, about 4pm commenced to snow hard, at 7 rained, rather a bad night for the odd fellows dance at Pierces. Mora is better altho she coughs awful by spells. Maud went to school and tonight she is sick with a cold and Cassy is sick too, has had two vomiting spells. Have to go first to one and then another and dose them all by turns, it is hard to see them sick. Sidney cut wood again today. Eleanor Bartlett is sixteen years old today.
