Thursday September 7th 1916

 Hot, nice showers at evening. Sidney went to West Monroe a.m., dug a few potato's p.m. The Polish man dug a few also a.m. Paul and I have not felt very well today. Sidney wrote to Hannah.

Thursday June 29th 1916

 Lovely quite cool day. I picked 48 qts of berries and made a dress for Paul, did some sewing for Susie.

Wednesday June 28th 1916

Fair, hot day. Ed Cottet's girl brought a note from Bisbo's for some of the girls to go and pick berries. Mora, Maud and Memphis went. Sidney and I hoe'd some corn. Susie came for me to go home with her. I went and took the 3 little ones. Sidney rode down as far as Bisbo's to help them pick berries p.m. When we got on the Pinnacle, M. Silverman was there. He ate dinner there. They traded about $10.00 with him. James bought me a nice gingham dress for $1.50. Susie gave me cloth enough for Paul. 2 dresses, steele grey percale.

Friday June 23rd 1916

Lovely all day. Sidney, Mora and I hoed and planted some beans. Sent a seed order to Salger. Paul is better, Cassy sick, a.m.

Thursday June 22nd, 1916

First nice day in sometime. Sidney, Mora hoed potatoes and beans. I found {unknown, page ripped} in a hole back of hen house. Rec'd a card form Mina. Sidney gone after the rest of his {unknown, page ripped}, he left them in woods above Geo. Munger's. Went to Mr. Smiths, a.m. I sold 6 eggs, got 3 lbs grahm off of Mr. Wilson, a.m. .22c for eggs.  Paul is sick.

Thursday June 1st, 1916

Fair, warm today. Quite a hard frost this morning, quite a few things were black on the low land. Our early potatoes that were up got niped. Maud and Cassy went to school. Memphis took care of Paul so I could help plant corn. Memphis and Maud covered like little nailers after 4. Sidney carried manure in 2 pails and dropped it all in the hill. Lafayette Mead came here at noon, eat dinner and started for Potter's. Mr. Wm. Johnson called this eve, on his way to prayer meeting. Sidney, Maud and Memphis went to Roscoe Bisbo's, got some groceries off Glen Davy. Got some dandy molasses for .40c/gallon.

Wednesday May 31st 1916

Fair, cold high wind. Sidney and I planted corn. Maud and Memphis went to school. Cassy looked after Paul. I sent a letter to Aunt Adaline Raymond, her birthday 85 years old.

Sunday May 14th 1916

Fair. Mora came home at 10 a.m. Blanch gave her a pair of rompers for Paul, that her little Rose had outgrown. Sidney, Maud, Memphis and Cassy went to church a.m. Sidney, Maud, and Mora have gone this evening. Mr. Webb came p.m. to see Sidney about draging.

Saturday April 15, 1916

Fair. Sidney split wood for E.B. Potter. Mora and Maud went to Little France. Paul is very much better altho far from alright. Mouth awfully cankered. Sidney sent .75c to Larkin Soap Co.

Thursday April 13, 1916

Rainy a.m., pleasant p.m. Paul was very sick all night, better tonight. Sidney came a little past 5 p.m., brought 1/2 # flour, 5# rice, 1/2 # coffee, some sugar, can molasses, can milk and bk powder, also lard, besides his scroll. A load alright. Gone to prayer meeting eve. Mora and Maud with him. Sent Maud Cronans flour by them. Mora got a peck of potatoes off Russel's. Mr. Wilson came, I got 10# graham flour off him. Red hen died.

Wednesday April 12, 1916

Cloudy a.m., fair p.m., cool breeze. I washed a few things. Mora went to Cronans, borrowed 2 qts. flour. Paul has a high fever tonight, felt bad for a couple of days.

Friday April 7, 1916

Snowed again in the night. Ground covered. Cold wind. Sap run a while p.m. Children did not go to school as the roads were so bad. Sidney came at 7:30 p.m., brought a can of milk for Paul and rice also a little Prince's pine he found near Broadway.

Wednesday April 5, 1916

Cloudy a.m. Fair p.m. Sidney helped buzz wood at Russel's a.m. Canvessed p.m., ate supper at North Constantia. Got 1# crackers. Mora went to Potter's, got some milk. Her nose bled twice. Maud has sore throat swelled quite badly. Paul has walked alone all over house today.

Wednesday March 29, 1916

Froze up last night but snow went fast today. Sap runs good. Sidney went down on the Pinnacle, got a pail of buckwheat flour and Susie sent 2 dresses to Mora by him. I washed 3 loads so far this week and have got another washing for tomorrow. Paul was quite sick last night. Has not felt well today, better tonight. Northern light shown plainly tonight.

Tuesday March 21, 1916

Thawing. Sidney and Claud commenced to cut wood for E. Potter. Mora went to school. A rag man came. I sold him a bag of rags but could not make change so he said he would leave the money at Fred House's. 14cents. Sidney got 9# flour off Maud Potter also a pail of milk. He let Claud have some milk and Lettie filled his dinner pail with hulled corn Maud went to see Bell. Commenced to wean baby Paul, he is very very good.

Friday October 15, 1915

Cloudy a.m., bright p.m. Children went to school. Mora came home at eleven a.m. to get a picture of the teacher's she forgot this morning, and eat dinner at home. Rec'd a letter form Sidney, he sent a new nipple for Paul also. Paul has another tooth coming through. I pulled an awful looking tooth for Cassie, had a root nearly 1/4 inch and decayed clear to the end.

Friday October 8, 1915

Very nice day altho mostly cloudy. I did an awful big washing, washed windows and mopped. Paul has been very good all day. I rec'd a card from Sidney from Phoenix. Mora, Maud and Memphis went to school. Alfred Russel came to get some salts, said he was sick . I did not have any so I told him to get some butternut bark and steep and take that.

Thursday October 7, 1915

Cloudy and windy. Memphis is 9 years old. All 3 at school. Cassie went down to corner but did not get any mail. She went down to Kent's again to get a can of milk for baby. She got two pencils and helped Bell bring up her groceries in our baby cab. Sold 1/2 doz. eggs for .30c/doz. Mora came home tonight as Claud expects to be at home nights the remainder of the week. Paul has one tooth just coming through, left under front.

Friday September 24, 1915

Sidney finished digging the potatoes acrost the road. Maud went the other way to school and Mora went and stayed with Lettie. Went as soon as Maud and Memphis got home from school. Did not have nosebleed today. Paul was awfully sick last night with fever. Is sick a.m., quite a lot better this eve. I sent by Mrs. Moon for 10# graham and a nipple for the baby. Sent 1 doz. eggs at .26c/doz. Due bill for .14c and .5c cash.

Thursday September 23, 1915

Maud stayed with Lettie last night, came home this morning to get her shoes. Lettie put up a good dinner for her. Memphis went to school with Maud. Mora did not go. Had nosebleed several times today. Maud went over to Lettie's tonight. Paul feels bad tonight. Sidney dug potatoes. I helped him pick up and so did Cassie. She went down to Kent's and got a can of milk off Davy. Took 1 doz. eggs, he paid .26c/doz. A. Russel brought a pail of milk and asked Sidney to milk his cow while he is gone.
