Saturday October 7th 1916

 Fair. Memphis is 10 years old. Sidney went to Fulton a.m., got home at 3 p.m. Got a letter from Aunt Adaline, 1 from Mina, and card from Philys R. and several other letters. Maud went with Vera and been to Florence's twice. Loren Wood came hunting, told me we could have some cabbage. Memphis went over and got 4 heads. Cassy and Lillian with her. Mora gone to spend the night with Vera. 

Tuesday August 22nd 1916

 Awfully hot sultry day. I picked 2 qts of huckleberries p.m. Mora picked some a.m. and also some barberries. I made a pie of them, it was fine. Sidney picked berries on Muckie's, took another can of Fred's over, got some duchess apples off him. I made 2 pies of them, mailed a letter to Aunt Adaline. 

Saturday July 22nd 1916

 Hot. Sidney hilled potatoes. Mora helped him a.m and p.m. She straightened parlor and chamber. Children pulled some weeds. I set cabbage and peppers, sow'd a row of turnips and made a sun bonnet, and dress for Paul. Baked bread and am quite tired tonight. I sent a letter to Aunt Adeline, a card to Adell.

Friday June 16th 1916

Very rainy. Sidney came at 5 p.m. He brought home 6 pair shoes and slippers, 8 loaves of bread. Aunt Adaliine has visited at Geo. Mustiger's, he said she is looking good.

Tuesday June 6th 1916

Mr. Richard Fieldind died. Warm fair day. Sidney started for Fulton about 9 a.m., he wasn't feeling well and I have been worried all day. Hard to keep at work. The children and I finished planting our sweet corn and planted all the popcorn. Also sowed some turnip seed this eve. I rec'd a nice long letter from Aunt Adaline Raymond.

Wednesday May 31st 1916

Fair, cold high wind. Sidney and I planted corn. Maud and Memphis went to school. Cassy looked after Paul. I sent a letter to Aunt Adaline Raymond, her birthday 85 years old.

Wednesday April 21, 1915

Fair. Sidney went over Dutch Hill sold a scroll to Mrs. Saunder's. I rec'd a letter from Aunt Adaline R.

Saturday March 13, 1915

Lovely as ever. Mrs. Dainis washed baby in morning and came again at 5 p.m. and brought some nice bleached outing print and a spool of white thread Mrs. Weatherup sent to the baby. Mrs. Dainis bought a granite wash basin to wash him in. Aunt Kate came and brought 2 yds. nice outing for baby, a can of peaches and a doz mol. cookies from Joe German. Louise Vinney called a.m. Mrs. Mallory sent sweet milk. Maud got buttermilk at Weatherups. Rev. Mitchel came a while this evening, he is very interesting. I sent a card to Aunt A.R. Raymond, rec'd one from Mina.

Friday February 19, 1915

Rec'd a letter from Aunt A.R. Raymond. Very pleasant day, white frost last night. Claud brought some wood at 1 p.m. Children went to school. Clarence brought the chopping bowl and knife home. Mrs. Smith called. People tapping maple trees.

Wednesday January 27, 1915

A nice clear mild day. Children at school, went home with Avis tonight a little while. Avis let Maud have her fourth reader for .36c. I sent a letter to Aunt Adeline Raymond this morning. Rec'd a card from Mina and three letters for Sidney p.m.

Wednesday January 6, 1915

Very mild a.m. rainy p.m. snow is going with a rush today. Sidney helped Pat this a.m. finished up. Mora and Maud went to school. Maud went to store, got a loaf of bread for Mrs. Dainis and she gave her a pkg. of gum. I sent some herbs for Lydia's baby. Sidney went to mill but it was closed. I rec'd a birthday card from Aunt A. R. Raymond. I made Mora's new dress and baked bread. Sidney rec'd a letter from the company.

Tuesday July 28, 1914

A very nice day, quite cool. Sidney went on the 7 a.m. 2 scrolls beside his sample. Mora and Cassie took Eld. Mitchel lantern home this a.m. Erma M. came back with them stayed to dinner and went home at two p.m. gave her a little adam. Maud went to mill a.m. and to store eve. Mora and Erma went to store at 11 a.m. Cassie and Memphis to P.O. eve. I did a months wash. A pkg. of pieces came from Aunt Adaline Raymond for the children.

Thursday July 2, 1914

Cloudy most all a.m. fair p.m. cool night. Gladys Rusha called a.m. rec'd a card from Sidney and a letter from Aunt Adaline Raymond. Memphis picked some nice wild berries. Had a shortcake for supper, she also went to mill. Maud and Memphis to P.O. this eve. I have hoed and sowed more seed and peas.

Saturday April 25, 1914

A very mussy day commencing to rain about 9 a.m. and rained hard nearly all day. Tonight the wind is in the East and blowing hard and cold. Maud went to the P.O. a.m. and mailed a letter to Aunt Adaline Raymond for me and got the mail. Mora went tonight after the four came and got a letter from the Merrit Med. Co., I sit up until after ten but as it is raining hard I don't think Sidney will come home tonight.

Friday April 17, 1914

Quite a foggy gray morning, nice bright sunshine toward noon and rest of day, wind drying mud fast. Sidney went away about 7 a.m. Mora went to Weatherup's and got some buttermilk. Mrs. Weatherup gave her some maple sugar to bring home for the other children and herself. She went to P.O. got a letter for Sidney and one for me from Aunt Adaline Raymond, she also sent a tintype of Adell and Watson. Sidney arrived home at 9 p.m. said he ate supper at Diamonds.
