Tuesday February 23, 1915

Awfully slushy snow going very fast, rainy p.m. Sidney reached home at noon, just as the children came to dinner. Mora and Maud went to store and mill after got home from school at night. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burt has a baby.

Tuesday December 29, 1914

A rainy day, freezing on everything until at about 3 p.m. got very much warmer and thaws snow, is going awfully fast. Mrs. Burt's funeral at Carley's. Rev. Mitchel preached a good sermon so Sidney said.

Saturday November 21, 1914

Sleigh bells are jingling today. Eddie Burt is moving out of Geo. Courbat's house. Maud went to mill twice and Mora went to store and to mill after to help Maud with her feed. Sidney came home on the 7 p.m. as far as the Square. He brought 5# crackers, a large coconut and some buns, and he and Mora went to Lewis's and bought a 15# hog's for 75c. He also bought a nice tablet for the children for school.

Thursday June 25, 1914

Nice cool breeze all day. Children picked more wild berries, had biscuit and berries for dinner, strawberry pie for dinner. Beet turnip and cabbage seed came today from Salzen's. I have laid some of the beet seed, hoed some. Lizzie Burt called p.m. Small crowd at the Grange picnic in Pine Grove.

Friday May 8, 1914

Pleasant all day. Mora went to Weatherups, Avis told her the minister and his family were going to moved on the Moon place. Rec'd a card from Sidney, mailed at Lacona. Floyd Lynch came to see our little rabbits early this morning, he had two little white rabbits in his pockets, said he got them off C. Burt. Gene Porter came to see them also, Agnes came and stayed until 11:30. Henry Rudeau has kept Cassie busy getting potatoes he plowed up, they are much nicer than if kept in a cellar. Caught some more little fish this evening

Easter Sunday April 12, 1914

Eddie Burt and Blanch Fidler married at West Monroe. Cold west wind again a little round snow and a little rain. Mora and Maud up all day, feel quite good. Sidney went to Sunday School alone today, did not have any minister.

Sunday March 29, 1914

Nice but a cold high wind gaining in fierceness at night. Sidney and Mora attended Sunday School, said they had a good sized attendance today. The Rev. Carl did not come. Frank Cary drove in awhile, he looks awfully old for his years. Claud Burt called again this eve., to see about rabbits, poor Jobby seems to have a very hard time with getting bunnies.

Tuesday March 10, 1914

Memphis was taken awfully sick in the night. A real pleasant day nearly all day. Mora went to Weatherup's and also to the P.O. Sidney felt bad all day. Claud Burt came in p.m. talked about rabbits. I rec'd a letter from Mina, Sidney two from the firm.

Thursday Feb. 19, 1914

A fine day thawed between 12 and two but only out of the wind, a cold raw wind all day. Mora went down with Avis after some buttermilk when they came home from school. Maud went to school too. Sidney did not go to meeting tonight as he was very tired. Susie came over with her baby to get her things and paid $2.00 for same, she staid to dinner said Mosaline was sick and also Chas. Dick. Claud Burt stopped this evening and paid for the boraxine. Gene Porter came down to see what to do to releive the earache, said Agnes had had it nearly all day. Lillian has felt bad all afternoon. Sidney sent a letter to the firm and also sent for some medicine. Roswell worked with them this p.m.
