Thursday, August 17th 1916

 Warm. Sidney and Mora went up on the Fidler place and got about 5qts of lovely berries. Sidney went p.m. got 2 qts more. I went on this lot, got 2 qts, not at all nice. too dryed up. Let Mr. Wilson have 6 qts. I also picked 3 qts of huckleberries.

Wednesday June 10, 1914

Man selling window screens. Fair. Sent a letter to Sidney, expected one from him but none came. Memphis went to the mill for corn. Charlie gave her back a nickel and told her to buy some candy with it. Maud went to Weatherups and got some buttermilk, Cassie mailed our letter to Sidney. Memphis also went to Fidler's on an errand for Aunt Kate. Lydia told her that Dorothy has the measles. Got the pantry nearly cleaned and washed windows also. Mora swept upstairs and helped me wash and put away dishes.

Tuesday June 2, 1914

A real nice day, Sidney went to the station to take the first train north. Maud, Memphis and Castella have all been over town also Maud went to Weatherups for milk. Henry Rudeau plowed and draged our garden today. John Fidler called to see Sidney this evening. I told him he would no be home until late so he said he would see him tomorrow.

Thursday May 14, 1914

Nice all day. Sidney walked out as far as Brewerton and took the first train to Syracuse, arrived too late to see Mary as she was buried the day before at 2 o'clock p.m. A Mrs. Watson had Mary's raincoat and she gave it to Sidney to bring home. He ate dinner with Sadie Hill and came on the trolley to Brewerton and walked out home, rode a ways with John Fidler. Took 3 dozen eggs got 20c each per doz. I rec'd a letter from Sadie Hill from Syracuse. The children went to school.

Saturday May 2, 1914

Nice day but quite a high wind, I found our grey rabbit dead this morning when I let the hens out. I think she had consumption, coughed all the while we had her. Mora has been twice to get green, once with Sidney, once with Lydia Boots. Maud went up and brought her children down here so she could go, Mora went up to Gehr's and back and then Sidney and her went over to Courbots Pond fishing, did not get a nibble, came home and Mora caught a chub and gave it to the cat, it was to cold to fish with any luck altho Mallory's land is posted. I saw John Fidlers reflection in the water over on the point of land when so dark I could hardly see him, Sidney called on P. Maruney a.m. he was just getting over the grippe. Little Mary Piddie 23 years old today.

Easter Sunday April 12, 1914

Eddie Burt and Blanch Fidler married at West Monroe. Cold west wind again a little round snow and a little rain. Mora and Maud up all day, feel quite good. Sidney went to Sunday School alone today, did not have any minister.

Thursday April 9, 1914

A cold raw wind, some snow froze hard. Gerome Fidler was buried today, funeral at 2 p.m. M.E. Church interment in Mallory. Mora went to school came home to dinner was looking bad but went back, came home at 3 oclock sick and broken out with measles. Maud has measles too. Sidney worked for Mallory in and about mill, Mrs. Toothacker is sick at Mallorys, had a Dr.
