Monday September 11th 1916

 Fair, cool, lovely day. Phillys called this morning a minute with his boy. Sidney went to [unknown, tear in paper]. Rec'd a letter from Hannah.

Thursday September 7th 1916

 Hot, nice showers at evening. Sidney went to West Monroe a.m., dug a few potato's p.m. The Polish man dug a few also a.m. Paul and I have not felt very well today. Sidney wrote to Hannah.

Sunday September 3rd 1916

 Beautiful all day. Charles and Daisy Green and 3 children, Fred and Hannah Bartlet and Guy came all 10 a.m in auto. Went at 3 p.m. Took Sidney to Gayville to get some flour and sugar. Mr. Roguiski came and with his phonograph. Had nice time.

Thursday August 31st 1916

 Fair, warm day. Mr. Wilson came. I got some graham and matches. sold him 1 doz. eggs, .28 cents. Glen Davy called also, I sent a letter Hannah. Mrs. Russel called to have girls stay with her girls while she met Hank with his groceries.

Wednesday August 30th 1916

 Fair, thunder shower came up, but it went around. Did not rain a drop here, rec'd a letter from Hannah.

We hoed some but it is awful wet.  I made a strawberry shortcake. Sidney rec'd a birthday card from Hannah.

Cloudy a.m. bright most of p.m. Rec'd a letter from Sidney inclosed .50c, also a card from Hannah.

Wednesday June 17, 1914

Beautiful today. Sidney's birthday, is 42 years old. Sidney and Mora have gone to the station to see about his box of scrolls. Georgie Piquet brought them down for him. They are very nice. We had a big strawberry shortcake for dinner. Sidney hoe'd in the garden. Gaults moving picture show at hotel Button. Mailed a letter, Sidney rec'd a nice birthday card from Hannah.

Saturday March 21, 1914

Cold and a cold wind all day. Mora went to Weatherup's got buttermilk, Maud went to Mrs. Boots got some parrings for the hens. Sidney took Mina's quilt cover this a.m. sent it to her by P.P., also wrote a letter to Hannah and one to Joe. Sidney went to Gehr's and got two loaves graham bread this evening.

Monday Feb. 16, 1914

Quite a nice day. Sidney took Mrs. Button's boraxine to her and she paid him for two pkg's 20c, he also took 5 bars sweet home soap to Floyd White but Floyd did not pay for same said they had all been sick and had a doctor so was cleaned clear out of cash. This morning the children went to school again and Sidney went with them and carried the things Mr. Seller ordered, rec'd $1.00 for same also a package of chocolate 30c to Miss Flynn and gave her 10c more 40c in all in payment for Mauds third reader. This PM Sidney and Floyd cut wood for Mallory's again. We all received valelntine cards from Hannah and Eleanor. Not much thaw as yet.
